What: Experienced Beekeepers will be available to demonstrate and answer questions about assembling hive components:
- Hive Boxes (deeps and supers): Best assembly techniques for stability and preservation. painting, etc
- Frames and Foundation (Plastic or Natural Wax)
- Plastic Foundation: Most commonly used today
- Pros and Cons.
- Assembly: Inserting into frames, adding wax coatings?
- Potential reuse
- Natural Wax Foundation: Traditional, still preferred by many beekeepers
- Pros and Cons
- Assembly more complicated: requires wiring frames, embedding wires, etc.
- Help from experienced beekeepers Highly Advised
When: Saturday, March 22nd. 9:00 AM - 2:00
