Are interested in selling your honey at the Indiana State Fair?
Details are your Summer 2017 issue of your TBoI Newsletter, page 6

Here are a few FAQ's
Q:  Who can sell honey at The Beekeepers of Indiana State Fair Booth.
A:  You may sell your honey if you meet these basic criteria
  • A member of The Beekeepers of Indiana
  • You work at the booth for at least one shift during the fair.
    • CIBA’s days are Saturday August 5th & Tuesday August 15th
    • Indy Southside Beekeepers day is Wednesday August 16th
    • You may work on another day if these days do not fit your schedule
    • Volunteers do receive a Fair Pass for the day they volunteer

Q:  Does the honey have to be from Indiana?
A:   Yes, Honey must be produced in hives here in Indiana.

Q:  How should honey be labeled?
A:  All products should contain the following information:
  • Your name and location
  • Contact information
  • Weight of honey in container
    • Remember, honey is sold by weight: 12 fluid oz. = 16 oz or 1 pound by weight

Q:  Can I set my own prices?
A:  No. A price schedule was published in the TBoI Newsletter, pp 8 & 9
  • For example: 1 pound jar is sold for $8.75
    • $7.00 to the beekeeper
    • Remainder goes to the State Fair, TBoI, and local clubs who work the fair booth.

Q:  When can I bring my honey to the fair?
A:  You may bring your honey any of the following times
  • Best days and time are Wednesday and Thursday because you can drive right up to the Horticulture Building.
    • Wednesday August 2nd - 9 AM to 5 PM
    • Thursday August 3rd      - Noon to 7 PM
  • Bring on the day you volunteer.
    • On these days you cannot drive up to the building.
