Three VERY IMPORTANT pieces of information for ALL CIBA participants!
First: Equipment Assembly Workshop - Saturday, March 14th
- This coming weekend BEFORE our Monday evening meeting on the 16th (See Below)
- Tim Caldwell will be hosting this 3rd-annual Equipment Assembly Workshop
- 8320 Brookville Rd, Indianapolis IN 46239
- (Same location where “New-Beekeepers Sessions” were held the beginning of February.)
- Take Brookville Rd. exit of I-465 on east side of Indy.
- Go east, past Franklin Road, Look for signs on your left
- Workshop is around back - follow the signs
- TIME - 8:30 AM until at least 1:00 PM
- Learn How To, and Receive Help With
- Assembling Wooden-Ware: Hive bodies, Supers, Frames
- Install Foundation into Frames; Wire Frames
- (Tim has equipment - Just bring your Wooden-Ware)
- Nothing to Assemble? - COME ANYWAY
- Watch, Ask Questions, Meet other beekeepers.
- If possible, bring a salad, side dish, desert…
- Come regardless. :-)
Second: CIBA March 16th Meeting will be at a NEW Location
This is NEXT WEEK, (Not this evening)
Holliday Park Nature Center - 6363 Spring Mill Rd., Indianapolis IN 46260
- Easiest to enter the North Gate off Spring Mill Road
- Immediately, follow the drive around to the left.
- You cannot miss the Nature Center and the Parking Area
- START TIME is 7:00 PM
- We MUST conclude well before 9:00 PM
- Future Holliday Park meetings - Beginning in May - Will start at 6:30 Pm
- If you have ordered Burdell Bees and have not provided your hive-bodies and bottom-boards
- Tisk… Tisk…
- Sam Dodd, Tim Caldwell, Matt Fearnow will be there to accept them.
Third: Hot Parafin-Dipping on Saturday, March 21st (Backup date 28th)
- Hot-Parafin may be used to treat wooden-ware: Typically Hive bodies, supers, bottom boards.
- Hot-Parifin provides an added measure of long-term protection against the elements
- It does require submersion in hot-parafin for a few minutes
- There will be a small charge; Probably about $3 per item.
- Exact time and location will be provided at a later time.
