The Beekeepers of Indiana State Fair Booth 2024

Our CIBA club has volunteered to host the The Beekeepers of Indiana booth at the State Fair for two days, Sunday August 4^th and Wednesday August 14^th. 

CIBA will be paid $100.00 each day to provide managers and volunteers to staff the booth from 9AM to 8PM.  An additional portion after expenses will be divided between the state organization, the TBoI outreach programs and local clubs that staffed the booth.

If you are selling honey 80% goes back to the beekeeper, 10% goes to the State Fair and 10% is for TBoI programs. Please see the Spring issue of TBoI Newsletter or website for guidelines on selling honey/hive products at the fair.

If you are interested in entering your honey or baked goods made with honey for judging at the Fair, go to the Indiana State Fair website and click on Competitions, click on Indiana Arts Entry Book for baked goods, page 30. For honey judging, click on Competitions, click on Agriculture/Horticulture Entry Book page 19.

Each day will have two shifts of volunteers-- 9am to 2:30pm and 2:30pm to 8pm.

I only need a few more volunteers due to the wonderful response at our last CIBA club meeting- thank you!

We need a minimum of 7 to 8 volunteers for each shift on Sunday the 4^th.

I still need one more volunteer for the 9-2:30 Sunday shift and two more volunteers for the 2:30-8 Sunday shift.

We need a minimum of 7 to 8 volunteers for each shift on Wednesday the 14^th. 

I still need one more volunteer for the 9-2:30 Wednesday shift and two more volunteers for the 2:30 to 8 Wednesday shift.

You don’t have to be a member of the TBoI or even CIBA to participate.  The booth sells honey lemonade, honey ice cream, honey and hive related products.  We also have an observation hive and honey taste testing.  It’s a great way to meet and learn from other beekeepers and it’s a lot of fun!

Entrance tickets to the fair are provided, so before or after your shift the fair is yours to enjoy! You will have to pay for parking.

Please let me know if you want to volunteer before the CIBA meeting on Monday,

July 15^th, so you can pick up your fair passes at the meeting.
