Field Day replaces the regular club meeting at Cool Creek Park for the month of June.
Field Day is designed to observe a mature hive in action with an experienced beekeeper and to have an opportunity to learn and ask questions.
Beginning beekeeper track: Hands-on participation in inspection of a live beehive, classes on sustainable apiary (making nucs and splits), feeding hives during the late summer dearth, and a hands-on demonstration of equipment and woodware. A box lunch w/bottled water will be provided and will be eligible for door prize drawing for a free hive (woodware only, no bees). Fellowship and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
