Indiana Young Beekeeper of the Year Award

Each year The Beekeepers of Indiana sponsors two Young Beekeeper of the Year Awards, one each for age category: Junior Division (12 to 1) and Senior Division (17 to 22) See Application below for Prizes

Award eligibility is based on the following criteria: Must be 12-16, 17-22 years of age Must be currently involved with beekeeping Must be recommended by their 4-H leader, Boy/Girl Scout leader, any TBoI member in good standing, any former or current beekeeper, FFA sponsor, high school teacher, or college professor in any agriculturally related field Must be a resident of Indiana Competition takes place in two stages Evaluation of all applications received Finalists will be selected from this group Finalists will attend the TBoI Fall Conference, October 25th (Friday Evening) and October 26th (Saturday) French Lick Springs Hotel (Accommodations for Finalists Provided) Finalists will be interviewed by experienced beekeepers who will assess their awareness and knowledge of honey bees and beekeeping Awards will be presented at the Saturday Afternoon meeting
