FYI. On this Tuesday morning July 22^nd Ron Myers, Gwen Strough and myself will be installing a colony of honey bees at the Governor’s mansion. This is at the request of the First Lady Karen Pence and Director of Agriculture Ted McKinney. We have been working with them for the past 8-10 weeks getting all of the i’s dotted and t’s crossed and getting the colony ready. The IBA is donating this colony plus a special hive stand which Tony Stewart has made. We have been requested to keep quiet on this until we were sure that it would happen. Their communications staff is handling all of the media arrangements, so we don’t know how much coverage this event may get. It is scheduled for 10. If we learn of any evening news coverage we will give you an e mail with the info by 2 Tuesday afternoon. I think that this should make all Indiana Beekeepers feel proud. More later.
